Useful site for travelers!

While I really like the idea of this site, I'm not entirely sure how accurate their info is, because I'm not sure you can make a general statement about an airline's entire fleet of an aircraft type. Some planes have just been retrofitted, some may be the last in line for the latest changes, and some may have different configurations because they were bought from another airline (and thus built to the other airline's specs). Maybe for newer aircraft types such as 767s and 777s the info can be pretty accurate, but the crappy workaday domestic fleet of MD80s and 737/757s most likely vary from bad to worse.

While I'm on the subject of the joys of flying... there's an issue I don't see addressed very often when it comes to how bad airline seats are... even (hell--especially) in First Class, the trays that fold out of the armrests instead of down from the seat in front. They also do this at the otherwise much coveted 'bulkhead' seats... Am I only one who hates these particular tray tables? They're usually too low to be able to sit flat across my lap, instead sitting there at an embarrassing 30 degree angle or so, me trying to hold the 'up' side of my tray down while I butter the roll made of rubber bands, cut the leather-like meat and poor the can of pop into the plastic half glass all one-handed. Forget using the god-damned things to set down just a drink! Can't wait to finish whatever it is, no matter how crappy, so I can fold the damn thing back up.

Also, speaking of potential embarrassment for big people in flight, you may want to reconsider following that site's advice for the emergency exit rows, depending on your size. I've heard tales of Flight Attendants asking big guys to change seats because of concerns about their size slowing down their ability to operate and use the over-wing emergency exits. Just something to keep in mind.

I think it is bullshit that

I think it is bullshit that "fat" people have to buy a business class seat in order to actually fit. I'm guessing sooner or later, there will be a class action lawsuit about the ergonomics of the airline industry's "coach/economy" seating. It cost about $150 each way per person to upgrade for the flight I was on...given the alternative, it was a no-brainer.

I suspect this mentality will last a few more years before people stop flying altogether (as is happening with the cell phone raping and pillaging by providers).

I know I will not fly again this summer as I had planned to, because of the additional $600 it cost to actually enjoy my flight (as I used to when I was "sub-4-feet-tall"

one other thought...

For $600 my wife and I should get dinner....no, I don't mean a "complementary" bag of shit made with fructose and acid (that the stiffs in coach pay $8 for)....I mean an actual MEAL....on second thought...F---it! EVERYONE should get a free meal on a 5+ hour flight. Cheap bastards.
